Most people now-a-days would not even be able to believe that these are both Celicas. With such a generation gap, the only thing that they have in common now is that they are both Toyotas and share the Celica badge. The first generation celica was released to be the "cheaper" alternative to the incredible Toyota 2000gt. The seventh generation celica was released to bring younger buyers out in the United States. I believe the best comparison you can derive from these two long distance ancestors, would be that the 1st gen is RWD while the latter, FWD...
