Random Oldschool of the Week: 1973 Mazda Rx-3...

And we're back.... been out of bounds for a while now, but we are back. back to give you the low down on the old school community, and the Back In Da Dayz Crew.
To kick off our re-ignition, I'd like to start with this random oldschool of the week.

A 1973 Mazda Rx-3. Previously featured in our long missed GrandJDM.This little rotary bad boy is amazing. A real looker and performer. With Rx-7 gsl-se front and rear suspension. This fiberglass over-fenders and front airdam add to the amazing-ness (is that a word??) of this classic. Maybe the classic SSR MkII do it a favor. Whats the size again? 14x9 in front and 14x10 in rear.... hmmm

1975 Toyota celica build *update 4/7/09...

The motor is in! The 22rte is sitting so prestine in the engine bay! I want to sleep on top of it. I dont know why, but i just wanna lay on top, grab a pillow and just sleep there.

The problem that we've run into now, is that bigger ct26 wont fit in the stock location. which is under the manifold. Sooo, one solution Joey thought of, was to run an aftermarket top mount turbo manifold. Lets see how this goes!!

Random Oldschool of the Week: 1973 Toyota Celica ST

For this week's random oldschool, I found a friend of mine's 73 Toyota Celica. Jp's (Zulu from 1stgencelica.com) ST really relates to me. A fellow youngster in the oldschool world, Jp has made this celica his own. The fiberglass front fenders with the molded over fenders make for a nostalgic style racer. It now sits a lot lower than it did, and the OG Rota RBs also hit the spot. Great Job Jp. See you soon.

WRX: 30min Blow off valve install...

So i come home from a day at school, and i find my brother matt and cousin justin fiddling around in the garage. to my unsurprised amazement, they're ripping out the stock diversion valve from justin's wrx. and squishing in the spare turbonetics raptor we got from our cousin from down south Chard. take a look:

i know your noticing that we ran it un-recirculated. Thats cuz the stock circulation hose wouldnt wrap all around. and we didnt have any spare adapters and hoses.... (what, we did it in like 30mins ok) oh, and notice that brown little thing inside the hose? its a shift knob we used to block the vacuum.. thats about it. car runs fine. i'd rather recirculate it, but that'll come later on.

History of Toyota and Tom's....

For those of you who don't know, Tom's is probably one of the biggest oldschool aftermarket brands still out there. They were basically Toyota's bullet to the pistol back then. And for many of us, still is. Watch this short video displaying Toyota and Tom's days of when it ruled the auto performance world. (not the hybrid performance world)
